The Senior Compliance Analyst - Insurance serves in a key compliance role for GuideStone’s insurance products and services compliance team. This role supports the financial growth goals of GuideStone by working to assess compliance risk and provide solutions to mitigate that risk. The Compliance Analyst utilizes compliance and industry information to support the compliance team as it establishes GuideStone as a premier provider of employee benefits. This position will help to establish and educate a team of compliance liaisons charged with implementing and verifying adherence to policies in all departments across the insurance line of business.


What you will do:

  • Serve as a key contributor to the insurance compliance program, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Church Health Plan rules, Medicare, and other rules.

  • Oversee and develop Insurance Services’ Policies. Assist other departments in policy development.

  • Manage process for annual review of all policies, procedures, and checklists for currency, as well as update requirements.

  • Assist with monitoring the insurance regulatory and legislative environment as it relates to employee benefits and provide support in communicating these changes to employees and customers.

  • Support the Insurance Plans, Product Management, Vendor Relationships, and Insurance Services teams by providing compliance guidance.

  • Conduct Risk and Privacy Assessments as well as Data Incident Investigations regarding PHI/PII breaches and non-compliance

  • Review marketing collateral for compliance aspects to ensure information is communicated correctly.


Expected within the first six to twelve months:

  • Familiarity and ability to interpret specific laws/regulations governing GuideStone’s Insurance business including HIPAA, Church Plan, group health plan, and Medicare rules and regulations.


Supervisory Responsibilities and/or Relationships

  • Lead project team members without having direct authority over them.


What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Compliance certification preferred (AICP, CCP, CHP, etc.).

  • Aptitude to interpret laws/regulations and to translate those into policies via strong technical writing skills.

  • Strong ability to build and manage professional relationships.

  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of GuideStone’s products, health and welfare plans, and the insurance environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, ability to influence, and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
